Amibroker

I mentioned several times in my newsletter , my blog and also somewhere else on these pages that I use Amibroker as my stock analysis software. And Amibroker can be used also as very powerful stock pick software.

This stock analysis software has a lot of tools and offer so much possibilities for technical stock analysis , candlestick analysis but also can support needs of fundamental analysis.

What I like on this software ?

Multi time frame charting possibility

I like to have chart of same stock symbol on the screen and see all of them together. My stock chart layout fit my needs. I have daily, weekly, hourly and 4 hour stock charts of same stock symbol visible. So I can analyze technical situation very easy.

Stock group and watchlist management

It is very easy to assign any stock symbol to one of group. And have several watchlists , each one for different purposes. Stock symbol can be easily added, removed, move between these groups and watchlists.

I have personally several stock databases. One for US Stocks, one for UK stocks (London stock Exchange) , one for local Czech stock market (Prague stock exchange) and another stock database for Germany stock market (Deutsche Boerse). I also have one database for FOREX symbols.

I can have opened several Amibroker programs, each one with different database and so I can check stock in US and stocks in UK and also Forex trading without any complicated switching.

I use Esignal as real time data provider for all databases I use. Amibroker offers possibilities of using several different data provider - real time and End of Day data. Several sources are free .

Stock screening

I use stock screening function a lot. It is very easy to write some Amibroker formulas describing my scanning rules and then run Automatic Analysis. I have my results very quickly and I can do stock pick analysis very quickly. My most popular scanners are breakout candidates, breakdown candidates, stocks near 52week high or 52low , stocks making pullback in trend , gapping stocks and more.

I can add any indicator I want to chart. I can modify parameters of indicators. And I can write my own indicator if I do not find it in the list of indicators available.
