How to trade foreign stocks ?

Are they available on american stock market ?

There is always useful to have possibility to trade foreign stocks. These stocks are primarily listed on their local exchanges. But how a trader can trade them ? Do you need to have trading access to every foreign stock exchange worldwide ?

No it is not necessary. There are also possibilities how to trade international stocks on american stock markets.

First possibility is to simply find US listed foreign stocks. There are such international stocks which are primarily listed on US stock markets instead on their local markets.

Second possibility is to find ADRs.

As mentioned on Wikipedia:"An American Depositary Receipt (or ADR) represents the ownership in the shares of a foreign company trading on US financial markets. The stock of many non-US companies trades on US exchanges through the use of ADRs. ADRs enable US investors to buy shares in foreign companies without undertaking cross-border transactions. ADRs carry prices in US dollars, pay dividends in US dollars, and can be traded like the shares of US-based companies."

Another possibility is to use advantage of International ETF stocks. These stocks represent basket of stocks pertaining to specific International market. There are already International ETFs for a lot of countries and practically every region is covered - Europe, Emerging Markets, Latin America, Australia, Asia and more.

And finally another possible solution is to find some stock broker firm (preferably one of discount stock brokers) which has access to a lot of foreign stock exchanges. There are such stock broker firms in US and also in Europe or Asia. You can do your own stock broker comparison or if you want to know my opinion, contact me.
